Majiadagou is located within Chenjiaba Township, Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, featuring valley scenery with dramatic peaks, unique rocks, steep mountains, and beautiful streams. The valley is dotted with 600-million-year-old ancient fossils (such as sea lily and red coral fossils). It also contains a giant sinkhole, over ten tiered waterfalls of varying sizes, eight karst caves—including Laojun Cave, Niubi Cave, and Heifeng Cave—which along with the nearby Jiuhuang Mountain and Foye Cave in Jiangyou form legends from the Journey to the West mythos. Rare plants in the valley include dove trees, ancient camphor trees, magnolia trees, and many unnamed towering ancient species. The deep mountains also host rare animals such as black bears, gorals, rock sheep, and macaques.

Chenjiaba Town: A township under the jurisdiction of Beichuan County. Originally named Fuxing Township in 1951, it was renamed Fuxing Commune in 1958, became Chenjiaba Township in 1984, and was established as Chenjiaba Qiang Ethnic Township in 1992. Located in the southeastern part of the county, it is 16 kilometers from the county seat, covering an area of 134 square kilometers with a population of 13,000. Chengdu–Qingchuan Highway passes through the area. The township administers 18 village committees—Longwan, Shuangyan, Hongyan, Pinggou, Qinglin, Tongbao, Yingtaogou, Daxing, Xihe, Dazhu, Laochang, Xiaoh河, Ma'an, Yonggan, Longping, Siping, Taihong, Jingu—and the Chenjiaba neighborhood committee.
