Shiyi Qiang Village is a classic red tourism destination.

In Qushan Town, the old county seat of Beichuan, there is a well-preserved ancient Qiang village. It is also called Shiyi Qiang Village (known as “Nabarige” in the Qiang language) because of a naturally formed giant rock in the village that resembles a chair. It is 23 kilometers from the new county seat of Beichuan and 60 kilometers from Mianyang, making it easily accessible. The 2008 Wenchuan earthquake destroyed many Qiang villages. However, this village, located just two kilometers from Beichuan, suffered no serious damage, earning it a reputation as “the safest Qiang village in history.” The village boasts a rich variety of species, with over 1,300 acres of fruit orchards, and is known as the “Village of Fruits” and the “Hometown of Chinese Tung Peaches.” The entire Shiyi Qiang Village is lush with green trees providing ample shade. From a distance, the green peaks shine brightly; up close, emerald cliffs glow with vibrant colors, and layers of forest are tinged with autumn hues. With its blue mountains, green trees, fragrant fruits, and happy people, it is a hidden paradise and earthly utopia not visible from the valley below. With a forest coverage rate of over 96%, it is truly a natural oxygen bar. Coupled with winding streams, layered waterfalls, and rugged peaks and rocks, wandering through the area not only allows you to experience the magical allure of the Qiang watchtowers that have stood for a thousand years but also helps you grasp the true essence of returning to nature.

Qushan Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Beichuan County. Established as Changlong Township in 1911, renamed Qushan Township in 1942, upgraded to Chengguan Town in 1953, changed back to Huilong Township in 1957, became a commune in 1958, restored as Chengguan Town in 1962, and renamed Qushan Town in 1981. Located in the southern part of the county, it covers an area of 117 square kilometers with a population of 20,000. The Chengdu–Qingchuan and Chengkou–Aba highways intersect here.
