Qizhi Mountain

Qizhi Mountain, located within the Xiaozhaizigou Nature Reserve in Qingshan Township, Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, stands at an elevation of 4,769 meters, making it the highest peak in Beichuan. Covered in snow for about eight months of the year, and often obscured by clouds and mist during summer and autumn, it seldom shows its true face, lending it an air of mystery. It is an ideal spot for mountaineering, exploration, and highland tourism. The climb to the summit involves rough and steep mountain paths, with a difficulty level ranging from medium to high. The winter snow line extends from 3,200 to 4,500 meters above sea level. Legend has it that a flagpole left behind by the Red Army during their historic crossing once stood at the mountaintop, which is how the mountain got its name.

Qingshan Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Beichuan County. In 1935, Mawo Township and Zangqu Township were established here; in 1952, it became Mawo Tibetan Ethnic Township; in 1956, it was renamed Jianshe Tibetan Township; in 1958, it was restructured as a commune; in 1981, it regained its status as an ethnic township; and by 1984, it was designated Qingshan Qiang and Tibetan Ethnic Township. Located in the northwest of the county, it lies 47.5 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 562 square kilometers, it has a population of around 4,000. The road from Badi to the Qingshan River Forestry Bureau in Mianyang City runs through the township. It administers six village committees: Anmian, Xina, Gaofeng, Chawan, Shangwu, and Zhenghe.
