The Yan Yangchu Museum is a patriotic education base.

The Yan Yangchu Museum was built to commemorate Dr. Yan Yangchu, a world-renowned educator of the common people born in Bazhong, Sichuan. It is located atop Tazishan Mountain, 2.5 kilometers east of Bazhong City. Construction began in 2003. Previously known as the "Yan Yangchu Historical Exhibition Hall" and the "Yan Yangchu Cultural Park," it is a public welfare cultural institution (at the deputy-section level), directly under the Bazhou District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, News, and Publishing. The museum currently has a staff quota of four, including two professional technicians. There are 14 staff members currently on duty, including two funded by the government and 12 hired by the institution. To honor this great historical figure who rose from Bazhong to the world, promote his remarkable achievements and patriotic spirit, inspire the present generation, and enlighten future generations, the Bazhong County Government began preparations for the Yan Yangchu Historical Exhibition Hall in 1988. In June 1990, the Yan Yangchu Historical Exhibition Hall, located within the compound of the county library, was officially opened. Due to renovations of the old building in the library, the exhibition hall was relocated out of the library. In October 1997, construction of the new museum site began on Tazishan Mountain in the eastern suburbs of Bazhong City, and it was completed in June 1998. The new museum features an exhibition area of 520 square meters, along with 331 square meters of office and auxiliary space. The total area now exceeds 64 acres, primarily consisting of the Yan Yangchu Historical Exhibition Hall, Yan Yangchu’s Tomb, a white marble statue of Dr. Yan Yangchu, the Bazhong Celebrities Garden, the Tomb of Dong Xiuwu, and the Lingyun Pagoda. The Yan Yangchu Museum serves as an important base for promoting and showcasing Yan Yangchu’s ideas on mass education, researching theories of mass education, and also as a key collection center for materials related to Dr. Yan Yangchu’s lifetime work, rich in historical significance. Currently, the museum displays 2,461 cultural relics and various types of materials related to Yan Yangchu, along with over 500 pieces (volumes) of documentary images, audiovisual materials, and more than 20 million words of textual material. Among these are precious artifacts such as Yan Yangchu’s personal belongings, handwritten notes, original photographs, inscriptions by notable figures, calligraphy, and paintings. It is currently the largest museum in China dedicated to promoting Yan Yangchu’s ideas on mass education and rural reconstruction, with the richest collection of related cultural relics.

In September 2006, the Yan Yangchu Museum was designated as a Patriotic Education Base of Bazhong City. In July 2011, it was recognized as a Bazhong Municipal Integrity Culture Education Base, and in 2012, it was named the Best Civilized Scenic Area at the municipal level in Bazhong. Currently, the Yan Yangchu Museum has become an important site for patriotic education and revolutionary tradition education, as well as a key destination for culture, tourism, leisure, and entertainment. Yan Yangchu (1893–1990) was from Bazhong, Sichuan. In 1900 (the 26th year of the Guangxu reign in the Qing Dynasty), he attended the Huaying School run by a Christian mission in Langzhong County, Sichuan. In 1906 (the 32nd year of the Guangxu reign), he enrolled at the Huamei School in Chengdu, run by a Christian mission. In 1910 (the 2nd year of the Xuantong reign), he worked as an English and Chinese teacher at Chengdu No. 1 Middle School.

In 1913, he went to the United States and was admitted to Yale University to study political economy. He began to be influenced by French utopian socialist thought and American bourgeois democratic and liberal ideologies. Danliang Subdistrict: Established on November 22, 2011, the Danliang Subdistrict Office of Bazhou District is located at the eastern gateway of Bazhong City. It administers five community committees—Hongyan, Houhe, Baita, Zhongba, and Yangba—as well as ten administrative villages: Chaqishan, Tazishan, Liangshuijing, Donghua, Paiya, Jianshan Temple, Yaoling, Nianpansi, Qinglian, and Hongshan, encompassing 96 village (residential) groups.
