The Cliffside Carvings at Shimen Temple are a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Protected area: to the east, 20 meters from the rock carvings outward to the last stone step of the Old HuiLongchang Street; to the south, 30 meters beyond the southern edge of Cave 1; to the west, 200 meters from the edge of the cliff; to the north, 30 meters beyond the northern edge of Cave 19.

Construction control zone: 20 meters beyond the protected area.

On October 7, 2019, the Cliffside Carvings at Shimen Temple were included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
