Changshou Dahong Lake

Dahong Lake   Dahong Lake is located to the west of Changshou District, adjacent to Yubei District in Chongqing. It is about 30 kilometers from the Changshou urban area. The lake was formed in 1958 when the Dahong River Hydropower Station built a dam and blocked the Yulin River in Qingyun Gorge, making it a natural scenic area. The lake spans both Changshou and Linshui districts. The water surface is dendritic in shape, with the reservoir controlling a catchment area stretching over 90 kilometers, covering a surface area of 43 square kilometers and holding a total storage capacity of 160 million cubic meters. The lake area features flat terrain, vast waters, numerous islands scattered across the lake, and a maze of bays and inlets, earning it the nickname "Thousand-Isle Hong Lake."
