This microfilm uses the "Eight Ways of Observation," a detective technique by Li Changyu — a modern-day Sherlock Holmes born in Rugao, Jiangsu — as the narrative thread to explore the longevity culture, floral arts and potted plants, humanities and history, longevity diet, folk customs, artisan crafts, and economic development of Rugao, the "Land of Longevity." It unveils the city’s rich tourism resources and showcases Rugao’s charm in full.
Breaking away from traditional styles and the common trend of love-themed travel microfilms, this urban tourism microfilm draws creative inspiration from the classic crime-solving methods of Li Changyu, a renowned detective from Rugao. It features the "Eight Detective Moves" as the central clue, making it the first detective mystery-themed travel microfilm. The film follows the storyline of a real-life "Conan" exploring Rugao and a beautiful Rugao Normal School girl "Little S," who accept and complete eight special tasks assigned by the great detective Li Changyu. Each of the eight tasks corresponds to a unique tourism resource in Rugao. The film emphasizes storytelling, artistry, thoughtfulness, and style, and will be further promoted via various online platforms (video websites, Weibo, BBS, SNS, etc.) through EPR campaigns, ushering urban tourism promotion into the "micro" era.
