Zijiang Lantern Valley, a national 4A-level tourist attraction, has become an iconic destination characterized by profound ethnic culture, excellent ecological environment, well-developed tourism facilities, high-quality comprehensive services, and a distinctive thematic image. It plays a leading role in propelling the leapfrog development of the tourism industry in Ziyuan County, showcasing the ethnic cultural features of northern Guangxi.

Nestled within the county town of Ziyuan in the heart of the Yuecheng Mountain Range, Zijiang Lantern Valley is a new riverside leisure landmark by the Zijiang River. Rooted in the culture of the River Lantern Festival, it highlights the image of a “magical lantern valley of covered bridge culture.” The area integrates various functions including nighttime leisure, cultural experiences, gourmet dining, handmade crafts production, tourism shopping, cultural creativity, and eco-living, serving as a heritage site for river lantern folk culture.

Within Zijiang Lantern Valley, visitors can enjoy the picturesque landscapes along the Zijiang River, explore the thousand-year-old river lantern culture, admire dazzling night light shows, watch unique ethnic performances, take part in a variety of leisure activities amidst the mountains and rivers, stroll through the bustling folklore streets filled with diverse goods, or walk along one of the world’s longest river lantern-themed cultural corridors.

The development of Zijiang Lantern Valley as a national 4A-level scenic area is centered around the culture of the River Lantern Festival and showcases the image of a “magical lantern valley of covered bridge culture.” It serves as a new riverside leisure landmark integrating nighttime leisure, cultural experiences, gourmet dining, handmade crafts production, tourism shopping, cultural creativity, and eco-living. Upon project completion, Zijiang Lantern Valley will emerge as an iconic destination characterized by profound ethnic culture, excellent ecological environment, well-developed tourism facilities, high-quality comprehensive services, and a distinctive thematic image, propelling the leapfrog development of the tourism industry in Ziyuan County and highlighting the ethnic cultural features of northern Guangxi. The project aims to receive over 500,000 visitors and generate a total tourism consumption of 100 million yuan by 2018, and reach 900,000 visitors with a total tourism consumption of 180 million yuan by 2025.
