Shenling is located in the northern part of Lingchuan, about 3 kilometers from the county town. It features deep pools, serene valleys, peculiar peaks, and steep cliffs. Shenling Waterfall is the highlight of the entire scenic area. The lush high mountains accentuate the depth of the valley, while the clear streams enhance the tranquility of the pools. With dense forests, birdsong, cicada chirps, and cascading waterfalls, it offers a secluded paradise-like feeling.

Shenling Waterfall is not the name of a single waterfall, but rather a general term for the scenic area. The area boasts not only natural scenery such as rolling green peaks and ancient primeval forests, but also cultural attractions including old dwellings, ancient post roads, remnants of Yao ethnic villages, and the ruins of a World War II airway beacon tower. Together, they form a uniquely rich natural tourism resource.

Of course, the most famous attraction in this scenic area is the waterfalls. Nestled within the mountains of the Beizhang Mountain Range, the Shenling Valley features towering cliffs and the convergence of numerous springs, creating many waterfalls. There are over a dozen waterfalls more than 10 meters high, such as Tianhe Waterfall, Jianfeng Waterfall, Shenlong Waterfall, Hongyan Waterfall, and Zhongling Waterfall. As for cascades between 3 to 5 meters, there are countless. Each step reveals a new view, with interconnected pools of wonder, all shaped by nature’s artistry—truly breathtaking.
