The Xiaoyao Lake Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Situated in Daxu Town, Lingchuan County, Guilin, the Xiaoyao Lake Scenic Area is 20 kilometers from the city center and 2 kilometers from the Li River, making it a gem on Guilin's eastern tourism route.

The area spans 3,000 acres with a tour path of approximately 3 kilometers. It is a natural ecological destination featuring mountain forests, mountain streams, and lakes, offering an ideal spot for sightseeing and leisure.

Towering ancient trees, dense forests, cascading waterfalls, and flowing springs create breathtaking scenery. The core natural attraction is Xiaoyao Lake. The serene winding paths along shaded streams, the primeval forest-like Longling Stream, and the picturesque Xiaoyao Lake together form the area’s unique and beautiful landscape. The lake is home to free-roaming swans and wild grebes (pronounced "bì tí", small waterfowl resembling ducks). If you’re lucky enough to see swans flying in a straight line over the water, it signifies a bright future ahead. Spotting a pair of grebes playing together in the water means romance may be just around the corner.

The scenic area has reconstructed historical pavilions and towers of Guilin, represented by the Xiaoyao Tower. Through classical Chinese garden architecture, stone carvings of poetry, stories of historic figures, traditional folklore, and the tales of Guilin’s Eight Top Imperial Examination Scholars, it revives the deep-rooted history and culture of Guilin.

The area features Guangxi’s longest 350-meter-high zip line, giving you an exhilarating taste of flying through the air. The 36 adventure challenges in the Xiyue Jungle further inspire your spirit of exploration and risk-taking as you brave the wild. Additionally, there are interactive activities such as wading in the stream, boating on the榕溪 (Rongxi), watching Guilin Nuo dance performances, poetry games with penalty drinks, blindfolded “scholar-pointing” games, recreational golf, and sightseeing vehicle rides, ensuring fun throughout your visit.
