The Former Site of the Right River Workers’ and Peasants’ Democratic Government is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level, a classic red tourism destination, and a base for patriotic education.

Former Site of the Right River Workers’ and Peasants’ Democratic Government: Located in Pingma Town, Tiandong County, Guangxi. The site was originally the Jingzheng Academy, built during the Qing Dynasty as a school funded by local residents of Pingma. The entire structure retains an antique charm and covers an area of 7,336.25 square meters. On the eve of the Baise Uprising, key leaders who directed the revolution in the Right River region at the time — including Zhang Yunyi, Lei Jing Tian, and others — worked and lived here. On August 17, 1977, [Name Redacted] inscribed the site’s name: “Former Site of the Right River Workers’ and Peasants’ Democratic Government.” In December 1995, it was named a Patriotic Education Base of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In 1996, it was designated a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level. Today, the site hosts exhibitions related to the revolutionary movement of that period, divided into two parts: one is the Right River Workers’ and Peasants’ Democratic Government section (exhibition area: 6,843 square meters), which includes the meeting hall of the Right River Soviet Government and the Right River Special Committee of the Communist Party, the residence of government chairman Lei Jing Tian, the quarters of anti-counterrevolution committee member Chen Hongtao, and the barracks of the Red Guards; the other is the supplementary exhibition section (exhibition area: 140 square meters), which introduces the revolutionary struggles of Tiandong across various historical periods in chronological order through paintings, photographs, texts, and physical artifacts.
