Guangxi’s Xiaomage Tiandong Longxu River Scenic Area is located southeast of Tiandong County, about 7 kilometers from the county seat and approximately 120 kilometers (about 1 hour by car) from the provincial capital Nanning. The entire journey is via highway. This is a renowned travel destination known for its pristine natural charm. The Longxu River originates in Debao County, flowing through Tiandong County’s Zuodeng Yao Ethnic Township and Pingma Town before finally joining the Youjiang River. The scenic section of the river spans about 17 kilometers in total length along both water and land areas. Lush bamboo covers the hills on both riverbanks, offering breathtaking scenery, abundant local produce, and beautifully preserved natural landscapes. Drifting along the river gives visitors the delightful sensation of walking through a painting. The area is also home to the simple and sincere folk customs of the local ethnic groups, such as the golden gong dance and suona welcome performances of the Yao people. Traditional wooden houses of the Yao villages are tucked among the bamboo forests, creating picturesque scenes that complement the landscape.

The scenic area features nine major themed attractions: exploration of the Shenlong Cave, gold panning and recreational activities at Golden Sand Beach and Qixing Mountain, spiritual bathing in the sacred waters of Longtan, water drifting adventures, orchard sightseeing and fruit picking, the Yao Ethnic Culture Garden, an outdoor adventure training base, mountain rock climbing, and horseback riding along ancient trails. With a rich variety of activities, the scenic area is an ideal destination for family leisure and weekend getaways.
