Tiandong Wetland Park

Tiandong Wetland Park is located near Dongning West Road in Tiandong County, Baise City, Guangxi. It is an urban wetland ecosystem and ecological tourism landmark project initiated by the Tiandong County Party Committee and County Government in December 2012 to enhance the city's image and create a livable environment. Aligned with the county’s development planning, the park covers an area of 437 mu, divided into two functional zones: the Wetland Park Zone and the Hotel, Sports Center, and Conference Center Zone. In terms of landscape design, it integrates surrounding resources, combining urban recreation, livable aesthetics, and flood control needs into a gracefully flowing urban pastoral setting. The park also incorporates elements of ancient human culture, the Southern Song Dynasty Tea-Horse Road culture, and revolutionary red culture. In terms of cultural heritage, it draws on Tiandong’s humanistic resources to fully showcase ancient human cultural sites, the regional culture of the Southern Song Tea-Horse Road, as well as Tiandong’s red culture and bronze drum culture.

The total planned area of Tiandong Wetland Park is 36.7 hectares, approximately 460 mu, of which wetland and water areas account for about 165 mu, and green space covers around 135 mu, together making up about 65% of the park’s total area. The wetland park is situated to the west of Tiandong City, bordered by Dongning West Road to the south, approximately 1 kilometer from the city center, 3 kilometers from Tiandong Railway Station and Bus Station, and about 3 kilometers and 5 kilometers from the Shili Lian Tang Scenic Area and the Longxu River Scenic Protection Area, respectively. Prior to the construction of the wetland park, the area was a meandering river valley and floodplain section of the Baigu River, characterized by overgrown vegetation and vulnerable soil erosion. Respecting the original terrain and landforms, the wetland park widened and deepened the water sections in this area. Through protective development, it has created a tranquil, natural landscape ensemble of flowing water, islands, lakes, shallows, and wetlands.
