Zhaisan Cultural Site

The Zhaisan Cultural Site is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Zhaisan Site is located southeast of Siguang Village in Lingnan Town, covering an area of about 80 acres. It is approximately 3 kilometers from the city center. The fortress was built during the Qing Dynasty and retains features such as stone steps, stone steles, the ruins of a community temple, the fortress gate, stone walls, house foundations, and enemy-defense stones. Defensive walls were constructed on the southeast side of Zhaisan. The highest section of the wall reaches 2.50 meters. About 12.6 meters outside the fortress gate to the east stands a rectangular stone stele. On the eastern side of the fortress entrance, atop the peak of a rocky outcrop, there is an enemy-defense rock that resembles a large turtle. It is also known as the “Flying Rock.” The surrounding valley within the fortress is flanked by rocky peaks. The valley is planted with golden bamboo, oil bamboo, and Chinese toon forests, some of which grow over 4 meters tall.
