Heshan Huaiji Scenic Area

Located in Huaiji Village, Helixiang Township, Heshan City. National Highway 322 runs along the eastern edge of the reservoir area, approximately 20 kilometers from downtown Heshan. It is a landscape-style natural scenic area. The reservoir covers an area of about 1,000 acres, with long, winding waters surrounded by green mountains on three sides, while the Hongshui River flows swiftly to the south, offering spectacular scenery. In the middle of the reservoir area, there is a small islet covering about 10-plus acres, where wild rabbits and ducks are often seen, adding a touch of wilderness to the reservoir. On either side of the reservoir, there are two peninsulas, each about 100 acres in size, stretching out towards each other across the water, playfully referred to by locals as "Lover's Island." On sunny days, the Huaiji Reservoir shimmers with light on the water; on rainy days, the surrounding mountains appear misty and ethereal. In all seasons—spring, summer, autumn, or winter—it remains a beautiful sight of clear waters and green hills.
