Xidan Commercial Street
Xidan Commercial Street is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
Destination Introduction
Xidan Commercial Street is located at the geometric center of Beijing. The street stretches 5.4 kilometers from Xuanwumen in the south to Xinjiekou Kou in the north, running through the municipal-level Xidan Commercial Center and the district-level commercial centers of Xisi and Xinjiekou. It is the most concentrated and developed area for commerce and services in Xicheng District.
The total retail sales of consumer goods by businesses on Xidan Commercial Street currently account for over 60% of the district’s total, making it one of the busiest commercial streets in Beijing. Xidan North Street is the most bustling section of Xidan Commercial Street, where there are now six large shopping malls.
Over the past few years, through focused development on the west and southeast sides of Xidan, a number of large-scale commercial and financial buildings have been completed, including Xidan International Building, Bank of China Tower, and Capital Times Plaza. Well-known modern shopping malls such as Xidan Department Store, Xidan Shopping Center, Xidan Saite Mall, and Zhongyou Department Store, along with time-honored Beijing shops like "Guixiangcun" Food Store, Wanli Shoe Store, and "Yuanchanghou" Tea House, all showcase their unique charm.
Covering a total construction area of over 35,000 square meters, Xidan Culture Square is currently the largest, well-maintained, and comprehensive cultural activity venue in central Beijing, integrating leisure, entertainment, and shopping.
