Introduction Xilongzhou is an islet in the middle of the Xijiang River in Wuzhou, surrounded by water on all sides. It features rugged rocks, lush greenery, and charming small sandbanks. During the Song Dynasty, it was listed as one of the “Eight Scenic Spots of Wuzhou” under the name “Dragon Islet Standing Firm.” In the Ming Dynasty, the Southern Ming Emperor Yongli once moored his boat here, using it as a “water palace” for singing, dancing, drinking, and revelry, enjoying himself so much that he stayed for over half a year. In 1921, Dr. Sun Yat-sen visited the islet for an inspection. Today, it has become a lovers’ island and a popular leisure destination.
