Twin Loyalists Temple

Located in the eastern part of Pandom Town, its front section was rebuilt in the 18th year of the Jiajing reign during the Ming Dynasty (1539 AD) as a memorial to Zhang Xun and Xu Yuan, two loyal officials of the Tang Dynasty who sacrificed their lives defending Suiyang City against the An Lushan Rebellion. The temple complex consists of a mountain gate, worship pavilion, Dragon-Tiger Well, and main hall. The stone plaque bearing the three characters “Twin Loyalists Temple” features bold, flowing calligraphy, said to have been written by Lin Dajin. The rear section is the “Two Sages Academy,” built during the Qing Dynasty to enshrine the deities Wenchang and Kuixing. The temple houses exquisite stone carvings, wood carvings, and murals from the Ming and Qing dynasties.
