Stone Water Jars The Stone Water Jars are located at the water outlet of Lion Mountain in the southern part of Xianqiao, Jieyang City. A pair of male and female “lying lions,” known as the “Twin Lions Guarding the Water Outlet,” flank either side. There is also the “Fairy Stairway,” believed to be the path frequented by immortals traveling to and from the heavens, and the “Water Curtain Cave,” formed by overlapping stone caves. To the south of the Water Curtain Cave lies a massive boulder resting in a mountain depression and pool, spanning over a hundred zhang in area. The surface of the boulder is dotted with dozens of natural rock pools of varying sizes. This is the widely renowned “Stone Water Jars.” The water inside the “jars” is as clear as jade and flows ceaselessly, with fish and pebbles clearly visible.
