The Wang Clan Ancestral Hall

The Wang Clan Ancestral Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Guangdong.

The Wang Clan Ancestral Hall is located in "Mingfeng Square" behind the former residence of Ding Richang on the west side of Yuanding Road in Rongcheng, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province. It served as the family shrine for the Wang family, renowned merchants of the "Mingfeng" Ramie Textile Business during the late Qing Dynasty. Constructed between 1873 and 1877, the ancestral hall faces north and covers an area of approximately 500 square meters. The structure follows a single-entry layout with a central courtyard and two fire lanes. Its recessed entrance gate is adorned with intricate stone reliefs and openwork carvings featuring elaborate patterns and smooth craftsmanship—a level of preservation rarely seen among ancestral hall buildings in Rongcheng. The wooden carvings are exquisitely crafted, showcasing the maturity and finesse of Chaozhou-style wood carving from the late Qing Dynasty. These wood carvings are exceptionally well-preserved and are considered rare masterpieces of wood carving art in Jieyang.

On December 7, 2007, it was designated as part of the fourth batch of cultural heritage sites protected at the municipal level in Jieyang.

On December 10, 2015, the Wang Clan Ancestral Hall was approved and announced by the People's Government of Guangdong Province as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites in Guangdong.
