Panlongge Temple

Panlongge Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located on Longshigang Hill southeast of Meilin Town, it was built during the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty (1875–1909) and is the largest nunnery in the city in terms of architectural scale. The temple is divided into upper and lower sections, with the main structure being a single-story high pavilion, surrounded by the “Three Pavilions and One Peak”—Gongchen Pavilion, Ziqi Pavilion, Jinhua Pavilion, and Tianyi Peak. The Great Buddha’s Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, and the Guanyin Pavilion are majestic and resplendent in gold and color, with all the statues in the temple carved from white marble. The temple is surrounded by vividly shaped hills that resemble a dragon, turtle, snake, elephant, lion, and tiger. There are also the Eighteen Scenic Spots of Panlong, including Pangu Hot Spring, Green Water with Floating Boats, Mercy Crossing All Beings, Morning Bell of the Buddha’s Pavilion, Lion Resting on Lotus, Purple Air Rising in the East, Golden Mountain Forum, Carp Leaping in the Golden Pool, Zen Cave of Perfect Enlightenment, -Top Seal, Gongchen’s Traces, Jinhua Welcoming the Sage, Western Evening Drum, Golden Cry at Dawn, Boat Release in Heavenly Pool, Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate, Monk’s Shoe Mark, and Buddha’s Pavilion Dragon Spring.
