Wulue Mansion, also known as the former residence of Yang Shipu, is located in Renhou Lane, Zhongtang Village, Nanxi Town, Puning City. The building faces south and is a traditional residential structure with distinctive Chaoshan architectural features, centered around a "Four-Point Gold" layout. It was built during the Qing Dynasty's Guangxu era by the grandfather of Yang Shipu. Behind the main block is a rear section with entrances on the east and west, known as the “Riding Double Tigers” section; to the east of the main block and rear section, separated by a 2-meter-wide alley, is a row of east wing rooms connected to the gatehouse, totaling 11 rooms. Renhou Lane spans 24.2 meters from east to west and 49.8 meters from north to south, with a total built-up area of 1,205 square meters. The walls are constructed from rammed earth, and the roof is made of tile and wood. Yang Shipu’s former residence was designated as a Puning Municipal Cultural Heritage Site in June 2008. In the same year, it was recognized as a patriotic education base by both Puning City and Jieyang City.

Yang Shipu was a renowned member of the Communist Party of China during the period of the Great Revolution in Guangdong Province. Born in 1902, he joined the Communist Party of China in 1925 and held positions such as Secretary of the Shantou Municipal Committee of the CPC, Secretary of the CPC South Road Special Committee of Guangdong, Secretary of the CPC Beijiang Special Committee, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, and Secretary-General of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee. In May 1929, Yang Shipu was unfortunately arrested in Wuhan. In prison, he remained steadfast and unyielding, and died a heroic death at the age of 27. On March 17, 2006, the CCTV National News program’s column “Everlasting Monuments” and the following day’s People’s Daily column featured Yang Shipu under the title “Unyielding Spirit of China – Yang Shipu,” highlighting the glorious revolutionary deeds of this outstanding CPC member, loyal communist fighter, and veteran proletarian revolutionary.

Zhongtang Village: Zhongtang (Zhōngtáng) is an administrative village located 22.5 kilometers north of downtown Puning. In 2004, as part of the Puning administrative village consolidation, Zhongtang Village in Nanxi Town and Chayuan Village were merged into one large administrative village with a population of 11,000. The Chayuan administrative village was subsequently dissolved. During the Ming Dynasty’s Yongle era (1403–1424), residents surnamed Yang and Zheng from Dachengnei, Fujian Province, settled here and found that the map of the military advisor He Yeyun of Chen Youliang marked this place as Zhongtang, so they adopted the name.
