Bai’erqiu Tian Scenic Area

Bai’erqiu Tian Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Bai’erqiu Tian Scenic Area is located about 8 kilometers south of downtown Puning and covers an area of approximately 3 square kilometers. It is known as the “Back Garden of Puning City” and a “natural oxygen bar.”

Bai’erqiu Tian is nestled against Qitou Ridge and faces Tieshan Ridge, with deep stone caves, naturally formed boulders, gurgling springs, and lush pines and bamboos. The crisscrossing mountain trails form natural green passageways that attract many hiking enthusiasts to come here for panoramic views and physical exercise.

Ascending from the foot of the mountain, visitors arrive at the Canglian Temple within the scenic area. The temple complex is newly renovated, grand in scale, and an ideal spot for rest. It is reported that Canglian Temple was established during the Ming Dynasty, boasting a history of over 400 years. Currently, it houses the Hall of Three Saints, the Kṣitigarbha Pavilion, the Guanyin Hall, the Zhenxiu Pavilion, the Bantian Niang Hall, as well as a liberation pond, the Dripping Water Guanyin statue, the Zhiqin Pavilion, the Longevity Bell Pavilion, and a comprehensive building.

During the revolutionary war years, Peng Pai led the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in their struggle in the Dasha Mountain area of Puning. The Red Army frequently operated in the forests of Bai’erqiu Tian. Today, Bai’erqiu Tian serves as a patriotic education base. In recent years, local authorities have intensified development efforts, fundamentally transforming the appearance of Bai’erqiu Tian Scenic Area. In 2015, it was rated as a national 3A-level tourist attraction, becoming a destination that integrates “ecotourism, religious tourism, and red tourism,” attracting a continuous stream of visitors every day.
