The Ironworking Street Workshop Cluster is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Guangdong Province.

The Ironworking Street Workshop Cluster is located in Jiexi County, Guangdong Province. It was formed during the Yuan Dynasty and flourished through the Ming, Qing, and Republican periods until the early years of the People’s Republic of China, stretching 142 meters in total. Among the 70 shops (also serving as residences) on the street, most have been involved in the ironworking industry from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the present, dealing in hardware products such as hoes, sickles, plows, and other farming tools, as well as kitchenware like cleavers and vegetable peelers. Scissors, pliers, nails, wire, and other tools are also readily available, making it a trading hub for hardware products across a vast area in western Jieyang. The entire street still retains much of its commercial architecture from the Ming and Qing periods. The concentration, scale, and degree of preservation of this single-industry ironworking cluster are truly rare among towns in the province. This integrated structure of shops, workshops, and residences reflects the characteristics of handicraft workshops during the Ming and Qing dynasties and serves as a microcosm of the socio-economic conditions in the Mianhu area during those times, holding significant historical value.

In 2002, the historic Ironworking Street Workshop Cluster was designated as part of the fourth batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Heritage Protection Units in Guangdong Province.

Mianhu Town: Mianhu Town is situated on the eastern bank of the middle reaches of the Rong River, and is an ancient town on the eastern plain of Guangdong. Established during the reign of Emperor Renzong of the Song Dynasty, it boasts a history of over 1,000 years. The town covers a total area of 33 square kilometers, with the built-up urban area spanning 5.5 square kilometers. It administers 10 neighborhood committees and 14 village committees (encompassing 30 natural villages). The town has one secondary specialized school, five middle schools (one under construction), and 19 primary schools (one under construction).
