Tomb of Wu Yin

The Tomb of Wu Yin is a cultural heritage site protected by Chaoyang District.

The Tomb of Wu Yin is located at the southern foot of Guishan Mountain in Lugang Town, Chaoyang District. The tomb faces southeast from the northwest. The gravestone is semi-circular, measuring 1.77 meters in width and 0.94 meters in height. The inscription reads: “In memory of Wu, the Magistrate of Chaoyang. And Lady Li, the Virtuous Woman of Guangde.” In front of the tomb are a stone offering table and flagpole stands. Approximately 0.5 kilometers from the tomb stands a memorial stele for the tomb path, which is 2.16 meters in height, 0.73 meters in width, and 0.20 meters in thickness. The inscription on the stele reads: “Tomb of Wu, Magistrate of Tang Dynasty’s Chaoyang. On the mid-autumn day of the year of Wuxu in the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty, Lin Mu from Putian, Vice Minister of Works, erected this stele in Datian.”

Wu Yin, courtesy name Ju, also known as Shengqiao, was born in 841 AD during the Tang Dynasty's Huichang era in Jinjiang County, Quanzhou Prefecture. He passed the imperial examination in 872 AD during the Xiantong era and was appointed as an assistant official. In 887 AD during the Guangqi era, he became the Magistrate of Chaoyang and later settled in Lugang, Chaoyang. He passed away during the Jingfu era (892–893 AD).

In 1992, the People’s Government of Chaoyang County designated it as a cultural heritage protection site.
