West Lake Ancestral Hall

The West Lake Ancestral Hall is a cultural relics protection unit of Shantou City.

The West Lake Ancestral Hall is located on Zhongjie Street within the village of Caicuoting in Laoxixi Community, Tongyu Town, Chaoyang District. Dating back to the Ming Dynasty, it is categorized as an ancient building.

On March 22, 2010, the West Lake Ancestral Hall was designated as a cultural relics protection unit of Shantou City.

Tongyu Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang City. In 1952, it was the Seventh District of Chaoyang County; in 1956, it became Tongyu Township; in 1958, it was renamed Hongfeng Commune; in 1959, it reverted to Tongyu Commune; in 1983, it became a district; and in 1986, it was upgraded to a town. It is located in the central part of the city area, 20 kilometers from the urban center. Covering an area of 42.4 square kilometers, it has a population of 92,000. The Honghe Highway and Tonggui Highway run through the area and connect to National Highway 324.
