The Twin Loyalists’ Shrine in Guwei is located within Ximen Bridge in Zhai Nei, Guwei Town, Chaoyang District. Dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties, it is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

On October 10, 2014, the Twin Loyalists’ Shrine in Guwei was designated as a cultural relics protection unit of Shantou City.

Guwei Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang City. In 1952, it was established as the Eighth District of Chaoyang County, renamed the Guwei District in 1954, and reorganized into three townships—Guwei, Nanyang, and Shanglian—in 1956. In 1958, these were merged into the Guwei Township, which was also renamed the Shangyou Commune in the same year. In 1959, it was renamed the Guwei Commune, became a district again in 1983, and was upgraded to a town in 1986. Located on the western edge of the city, bordering Puning City, it is 31.2 kilometers from the Chaoyang City government. Covering an area of 52.4 square kilometers, it has a population of 103,000, including 60,000 overseas Chinese.
