The Former Residence of Lu Xiufu

The Former Residence of Lu Xiufu is a cultural relic protection unit of Chenghai District.

The Former Residence of Lu Xiufu is located in the Port Management District of Chenghai City. In the late Southern Song Dynasty, Chen Yizhong, Lu Xiufu, Zhang Shijie, Wen Tianxiang, and others enthroned Emperor Duanzong of Song in Fuzhou to resist the Yuan army.

Due to political disagreements with Chen Yizhong, Lu Xiufu was demoted and exiled to Chaozhou in May of the first year of the Jingyan era, and he settled here with his family in the former residence of Cai Panxi, the prefect of Chaozhou, located at Piwang Port (now downtown Chenghai). Lu also set up a school in the Yang Family Courtyard on Guocuo Lane to teach students, enlighten the public, and cultivate resistance forces against the Yuan. This place has long been known as "Lu’s Enclosure."

The site of this residence was formerly a key cultural relic protection unit of Chenghai City.
