In the second year of the Shaoxing era during the Song Dynasty (1132 AD), the "Tashan Temple" was built at the foot of the mountain, named after a rock formation resembling a pagoda. Over the centuries, the temple experienced many ups and downs, and was rebuilt in 1986 with the heartfelt support of local patrons from both home and abroad.

The ancient temple now sits against the mountain and by the water, covering an area of 4,000 square meters. It boasts a majestic gate, splendid halls, vermilion walls enclosing the compound, and glazed tile roofing. In front of the temple lies a reservoir embraced by surrounding peaks, creating a serene scene where sky and water blend into one. Additionally, Nanzhi Mountain is home to several historical sites, including relics of Lu Xiufu’s travels and the uprising camp of Zhu Liangbao.
