Located southwest of Xianmen Village, Xinnan Town, Chenghai District, Xiehe Ecological Park is a comprehensive tourist destination integrating historical culture, natural ecology, and leisure entertainment. In October 2010, it was designated as the “Science Education Base of Chenghai District Science and Technology Association, Shantou City.”

This educational base has achieved a certain scale in its natural and ecological development. The park boasts a variety of pollution-free fruit trees, a collection of rare tree species, and a designated farmhouse garden, offering significant value for science education.

Xiehe Ecological Park in Chenghai District, Shantou City, is among the first group of National Leisure Tourism Demonstration Units in Guangdong Province. The park features lush greenery, expansive orchards, and a range of recreational services including children’s play areas and farm-style cuisine, making it an ideal spot for rural tourism and leisure activities.

At the heart of the park stands the Tang Boyuan Memorial Hall, dedicated to commemorating Tang Boyuan—a prominent official from the Ming Dynasty’s Ministry of Personnel, a renowned scholar of Neo-Confucianism, and a respected figure from the Chaoshan region. The exhibition showcases Tang’s lifelong dedication to diligence, integrity, and simplicity, highlighting his noble character and virtuous qualities.

Xianmen Village: Overview of Xianmen Village

Xianmen Village is located on the eastern side of the southern foothills of Nanzhi in Xinnan Town. It is a remote revolutionary old base village with a current population of 1,013 people across 280 households, including 989 agricultural residents and 24 non-agricultural residents. The village has one Party branch with 38 members and is divided into three villager groups. With over 160 acres of arable land—less than 0.15 acres per person—it is a purely agricultural community with annual collective economic income of less than ¥30,000. Major crops include bananas, jujubes, guavas, and strawberries.
