The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located in the center of Shiqi urban area. The memorial hall is 35 meters high, with a total area of over 30,000 square meters and a building area of 8,400 square meters.

Viewed from above, the structure forms the shape of the Chinese character “中” (meaning "middle" or "center"), while from ground level, it resembles the character “山” (meaning "mountain"). The entire building combines a strong traditional Chinese architectural style with modern elements. The vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress inscribed the horizontal plaque with the six large Chinese characters “孙中山纪念堂” (Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall). The memorial hall features a multi-level structure divided into front, middle, and rear sections. The front section is a three-story building: the first floor houses a lobby with a white marble bust of Sun Yat-sen at its center, flanked by the “Zhongshan Construction Achievements Exhibition Hall”; the second floor contains the “Sun Yat-sen Revolutionary History Exhibition Hall” on both sides; the third floor consists of three pavilion-style structures arranged in the shape of a mountain, with the central octagonal pavilion serving as a VIP room that can accommodate over 100 people, and the two smaller four-cornered side pavilions functioning as VIP rest areas. The middle section of the memorial hall is a large modern theater with 1,484 seats. The rear section is two stories high and includes dressing rooms for performers.

Sun Yat-sen (1866–1925), also known as Wen, with the courtesy name Zaizhi, the pseudonyms Risshin and Yixian, childhood name Dixiang, and alias Zhongshan Qiao, often used the name Zhongshan.
