Gaodiaoshui Waterfall

Gaodiaoshui Waterfall is located in Qingfeng Village, Liudu Town, Yun’an County, Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. The waterfall originates between Yulong Peak, which stands at an elevation of 1,039 meters, and Yufuo Peak, at 980 meters above sea level. The catchment area of the waterfall region spans 5 square kilometers, with a substantial runoff that can support hydroelectric power generation with an installed capacity of 125 kilowatts. The plunge pool formed by the waterfall is crystal clear. The waterfall complex is surrounded by rolling mountains, with 13 peaks of varying sizes stretching continuously—majestic and uniquely shaped, some resembling Chang’e flying to the moon, others like the God of Wealth bestowing blessings.

The entire waterfall complex cascades down in four tiers, with a total drop of over 200 meters, and the first tier alone has a vertical drop of more than 100 meters. The mountain area of over 1,800 acres is covered with lush green pines, grass, bamboo, vines, wildflowers, and various berries, creating a picturesque natural landscape that is filled with poetic charm—where “mountain waters flow and birds sing among fragrant flowers.”
