Ersheng Temple

Ersheng Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Ersheng Temple is located in Taiping Village. It is said to have been built by local residents to commemorate two deities: Kanggong Zhenjun and Hongsheng Dajiang. The temple was rebuilt for the second time in 1902 but was demolished during the “Cultural Revolution” in 1966. In 1991, with funding of 200,000 RMB raised by compatriots from Hong Kong, the temple was reconstructed to its original appearance, covering an area of 1,069 square meters with a floor space of 312 square meters. The main structure is built with brick and wood, and the temple complex includes the Chen Residence, Tin Hau Temple, Incense Pavilion, Main Hall, and Yi Yong Ancestral Hall. The craftsmanship is quite exquisite, integrating wood carving, stone carving, lime sculpture, and pottery figurines. The annual birthday celebration of the deities is held on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. During the day, villagers gather at Ersheng Temple with offerings such as livestock, fruits, and joss paper to burn incense and worship Kanggong Zhenjun and Hongsheng Dajiang, praying for favorable weather, peace, and prosperity. In the evening, there is also the “Mist Seven Sisters” ritual.

Taiping Village: Taiping Village is located 6.8 kilometers southwest of the Dongsheng Town government. It borders Yilong Village to the north, Henglan Town's Sisha to the west, and Baofeng and Liexi'er Villages of Xiaolan Town to the northwest. The village covers an area of 4.8 square kilometers, has a permanent population of 7,307, and a floating population of 700, comprising 20 villager groups.
