Xiaolan Chrysanthemum Festival

Xiaolan Town is located in the central part of the Pearl River Delta and is an important town in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. Xiaolan is known as the "Chrysanthemum City." The chrysanthemum culture runs through the history of Xiaolan, beginning with folk organizations such as the "Chrysanthemum Tasting" and "Chrysanthemum Social Clubs," which gradually evolved into the "Yellow Flower Festival" held once every ten years. In the 19th year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty (1814), ten chrysanthemum societies jointly organized a grand chrysanthemum event and agreed to hold a major festival every 60 years, starting from the Jiaxu year when their ancestors first settled in Xiaolan.
