Former Residence of Yang Yin

The former residence of Yang Yin is a protected cultural heritage site of Guangdong Province.

The former residence of Yang Yin is located in Cuiheng Village. Built during the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty, it faces east and covers an area of 1,420 square meters, with a floor space of 280 square meters. The residence is a two-courtyard, four-bay brick-and-wood structure facing west. Each side of the main hall has a wing room, both of which are two-story wooden structures. Both the main hall and the kitchen feature a courtyard to provide lighting and drainage. A shrine is placed at the back of the main hall for ancestral worship. The roof is enclosed with parapet walls. The main structure is built with polished blue bricks, while the foundation is constructed with granite slabs. It combines the architectural charm of Western-style buildings with the traditional local characteristics of residential houses in the Pearl River Delta region.

In the center of the main hall hangs a large portrait of Yang Yin along with a family photo. The interior is elegantly furnished, solemn and respectful. The southern wing room hosts an exhibition on the life and deeds of martyr Yang Yin. The northern wing room served as Yang Yin’s bedroom, furnished with the large iron bed, desk, square wooden stool, and wooden washstand used during his wedding.

On June 29, 1989, the former residence of Yang Yin was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province by the People's Government of Guangdong Province.

To promote the revolutionary deeds and patriotic spirit of Yang Yin, restore the authentic historical scenes, and better showcase the family environment of martyr Yang Yin during the revolutionary period for public commemoration, relevant departments renovated the former residence. It officially opened to the public on August 12, 2002, becoming a tourist attraction.

Cuiheng Village: Cuiheng Village is under the jurisdiction of Nanlang Town, Zhongshan City. It is located in the southeastern part of Zhongshan and also in the southeast of Nanlang Town. To the east, it faces the Lingdingyang waters of the Pearl River Estuary, across from Qi'ao Island in Zhuhai. To the south, it connects with Jinding Town in Zhuhai. To the west, it borders Wuguishan Mountain, and to the northeast, it neighbors Yakou Village. The Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway runs east of the village. The Zhonggong Highway runs through the village. Cui Shan Road connects the Zhonggong Highway to the east and Chenggui Highway to the west, passing by the Yixian Reservoir. It is a vital hub for land and water transportation in the southeastern part of Zhongshan City.
