The Yakou Ruins are a cultural tourism attraction.

The Yakou Ruins are located on the coastal sand dunes of Yakou Village in Nanlang Town. The main historical artifacts unearthed include gray clay urns. Research indicates that these are relics from the Warring States period (475–221 BCE). They are relatively large in size, with an overall height of 59 cm and a mouth diameter of 35 cm. The firing temperature was high, resulting in a hard body. The vessels mostly have flared mouths, rolled and outward-flaring rims, broad shoulders, deep bodies, slender lower bellies, and tapering to small flat bases. Their surfaces are often decorated with “rice grain” patterns. Based on the excavated artifacts, they are believed to be remnants from the Warring States period and are classified as cultural relics of that era.

Additionally, hard clay pottery jars from the Han Dynasty were also unearthed at Yakou, with a mouth diameter of 10 cm. These orange clay items have straight mouths, outward-flaring rims, deep and slightly bulging bodies, and flat bottoms. Their shoulders are adorned with a band of concave string patterns, below which are stamped square grid motifs. Research identifies these as artifacts from the Han Dynasty (206 BCE–220 CE). Other relics such as small-necked pots have also been found. These have been designated as part of the second batch of protected cultural relics by the Zhongshan Municipal People's Government. The above artifacts are collected and well-preserved by the Zhongshan Museum.

Yakou Village: Yakou Village is an administrative village under the jurisdiction of Nanlang Town, Zhongshan City, comprising eight villager groups. Five of these groups—Dongbao, Xibao, Pingshan, Zhongbao, and Xiangxi—primarily bear the surname Tan. The Yangjia group is mainly surnamed Yang, the Lujia group is mainly surnamed Lu, and the Huamei group is mainly surnamed Xiao. Tan, Yang, Lu, and Xiao are the four original major surnames of Yakou Village. After the liberation period, some non-native households were integrated, and now the village has a total of 53 surnames.

The geographical location of Yakou Village is in the western part of the Pearl River Estuary, with well-developed transportation and access to information. It neighbors Zhuhai City to the south, faces Lingdingyang to the east, and across the water lies Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
