Bao'en Chan Temple, originally named Guanyin Temple, is located at the foot of Hulu Hill, at No. 1 Guanxian Road, Huangpu Town. Originally built as Guanyin Temple in the 23rd year of the Kangxi reign during the Qing Dynasty (approximately 320 years ago), it covers an area of 6,670 square meters with a construction area of 3,500 square meters. It was renovated in 1988 and 1995. In 1999, the municipal government implemented religious policies and the temple was taken over by the Religious Affairs Bureau and renamed “Bao'en Chan Temple.” In 2001, with approval from both provincial and municipal governments, it opened to the public, becoming an important religious site in Zhongshan City. The temple enjoys year-round incense offerings. In 2003, following expansion and renovation, its beautifully designed Mountain Gate, Heavenly King Hall, Mahavira Hall, Guanyin Hall, Medicine Buddha Pavilion, Dining Hall, Guest Hall, and Ciji Garden blended seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, presenting a solemn and elegant atmosphere. It has become a key tourist attraction in Zhongshan, drawing a constant stream of visitors.
