Destination Introduction

Prince Qingke’s Mansion is located on the north side of the western entrance of Xinculture Street (formerly Shifu Bridge Street) in Xicheng District. Prince Qingke was the eldest son of Prince Lishun Dai Shan. The title of Prince Qingke was posthumously conferred upon him, making him one of the “Eight Iron-Capped Princes” of the early Qing Dynasty.

The mansion was built during the Shunzhi reign. It was not large in its original area, but its layout largely followed the design regulations of a princely residence. The screen wall south of the mansion’s entrance road still stands, and only the eastern wing building remains in the front part of the mansion. The rear inner gate, bedroom, east and west side rooms, and rear screen rooms in the back section are all well preserved. Most of the original structures in the western wing courtyard also remain. After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, the last Prince Qingke, Man Sen, sold the mansion to Xiong Xiling as his residence.

To this day, stone pillar bases on the gable corners of the rear bedroom still bear inscriptions indicating that Xiong Xiling and his wife Zhu Qihui donated their property to the Beijing Relief Society. It is a key cultural relic protection unit of Beijing Municipality.

In May 2013, Prince Qingke’s Mansion in Beijing was designated and announced by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China as part of the seventh group of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
