Four Great Buddhist Mountains Scenic Area

The Four Great Buddhist Mountains Scenic Area is located on the picturesque Fenghuang Mountain. Following the contours of the mountain, it has recreated the main structures and scenic spots of China’s four famous Buddhist mountains—Mount Putuo in Zhejiang, Mount Jiuhua in Anhui, Mount Emei in Sichuan, and Mount Wutai in Shanxi—at a 1:1 scale. The Mount Putuo section has been completed and is open to the public.

The ancient architecture within the scenic area boasts exquisite craftsmanship, with halls featuring yellow walls, black tiles, and upturned eaves. The Buddha and bodhisattva statues are exquisitely carved and majestic in posture. The bell tower houses a massive “Great Bell” weighing 7,000 jin, which is truly remarkable—when struck, its sound resonates loudly and echoes for a long time. The entire scenic area is being developed into a garden-style attraction comprising nine functional zones, including an archway, pagoda forest, food street, commercial area, and a wellness zone.
