Golden Ingot Bridge
The “Golden Ingot Bridge” is a newly built white marble three-arch stone bridge constructed in the early 21st century. It is located at the water outlet on the eastern shore of Shichahai Lake, to the west of Wan’an Bridge (also known as Di’anmen Bridge or Houmen Bridge). Its construction was entirely for the convenience of pedestrians. Moreover, standing on the bridge and looking westward, one can see the shimmering waters of Shichahai. A gentle breeze brings fresh, slightly moist air that refreshes the lungs, while ripples lap gently against the shore, accompanied by the soothing sound of water. The winding shoreline and weeping willows along the bank create a truly delightful scene that captivates the heart and makes one linger without wanting to leave.
In 2000, while restoring Wan’an Bridge, a white marble three-arch stone bridge was added to its west. The central railing slab is inscribed with the three characters “Golden Ingot Bridge” (金锭桥), named and handwritten by Professor Hou Renzhi, shining brilliantly. The Golden Ingot Bridge echoes the nearby Silver Ingot Bridge to its north and faces the Golden Thread Loop area across the “lake.”
