The Jigang Tombs are a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hubei Province.

The Jigang Tombs

Located in Jigang Village, Zhaisan Village, Bolingang Village, and Maopu Village, Xinchong Town, Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, this is a cluster of tombs dating from the Warring States period to the Han Dynasty. Spread across the elevated lands of the four villages, the site covers an area of about 5 million square meters, with 65 visible earthen mounds on the surface. Exploration conducted in the mid-1980s revealed pit coffins with wooden chambers and brick-chambered tombs. Since then, multiple rescue excavations have been carried out in conjunction with construction projects, unearthing a large number of precious relics. The tomb complex is extensive in area and rich in the number of tombs, holding significant academic value.
