China Bookstore was established on November 4, 1952. It is the first well-known cultural enterprise in China that integrates acquisition, distribution, publishing, and auctioning, and is a state-owned commercial business specializing in ancient and used books and periodicals, as well as historical documents. Its main business scope includes buying and selling ancient and used books and periodicals, stone rubbing rubbings, distributing newly printed ancient texts, reproducing and publishing Chinese ancient books and documents, and also providing readers with missing pages and single-year or single-volume periodical replacements.
