Hezuo Road Gymnasium

Hezuo Road Gymnasium is located at No. 34 Hezuo Road, Jiang’an District. It is a public sports facility managed by the Wuhan Municipal Sports Commission. Completed in January 1953, it was the earliest outdoor floodlit sports court in the Wuhan area. In April 1992, it was expanded into an indoor gymnasium. The main structure of the building is a reinforced concrete frame. The roof uses bolted ball steel trusses and rigid precast concrete roof panels. The gymnasium is equipped with high-efficiency mixed lighting. It can accommodate 2,400 spectators and once hosted the closing ceremony of the 3rd Wuhan Municipal Games.

In 1994, to meet the needs of tennis activities from all sectors of society, the venue was converted into an indoor tennis court. In May 1996, it was leased to Wuhan Shenwei Bowling Sports Co., Ltd. and is now known as the Wuhan Shenwei Bowling Center. Covering an area of 2,200 square meters, the bowling alley uses Brunswick GX96 equipment (28 lanes) imported from the United States. With a total investment of approximately 20 million yuan, it is one of the more advanced indoor bowling centers in the world. It has hosted the China Cross-Strait Bowling Challenge and organized multiple national bowling championships.
