The Central Trust Bureau Hankou Branch Building was one of the three iconic modernist structures of its time, alongside the Hankou Siming Bank and the China Industrial Bank.

It is one of the representative works of modernist architect Lu Yongbiao. The six-story reinforced concrete structure includes one basement level. At that time, European modernist architects were vigorously promoting large-scale industrial urban architectural models, an influence that reached inland China.

The Zhongyi Trust Company was established in 1921, headquartered in Shanghai, as a business bureau under the Central Bank. In 1936, a branch of the Zhongyi Trust Company was set up in Hankou.

Today, when you stand on the overpass at the intersection of Zhongshan Avenue and Jianghan Road and look east, this ochre-colored, crag-like building stands majestically with simple lines and an upright form.

Currently used for commercial purposes, the first floor of the building is leased to Huanggong Photography Studio.
