The Tomb of Chen Youliang is a cultural relic protection unit of Hubei Province.

Located at the southern foot of Snake Hill in Wuchang District, Wuhan. Chen Youliang (1319–1363), a native of Mianyang, Hubei, was a leader of the peasant uprising army at the end of the Yuan Dynasty. In the 18th year of the Zhi Zheng era (1358) of the Yuan Dynasty, he declared himself the King of Han, and in the 20th year (1360), he killed Xu Shouhui and proclaimed himself the “Great Han Emperor.” In the 23rd year of Zhi Zheng (1363), he died in battle against Zhu Yuanzhang at Poyang Lake. His body was returned to Wuchang and buried at the southern foot of Huanghu Mountain (Snake Hill). The existing tomb mound was rebuilt in the first year of the Republic of China (1912) and restored in 1981. The tomb site covers an area of about 200 square meters, with a round-cornered rectangular mound about 2 meters high, surrounded by a brick tomb wall. (First Batch)

Chen Youliang (1320–1363) was the founder of the Great Han regime in China at the end of the Yuan Dynasty. A native of Mianyang, Hubei (now Xiantao City), he joined the Red Turban Army of the Heavenly Prosperity (Tianwan) regime led by Xu Shouhui, Zou Pusheng, and Ni Wenjun during the outbreak of the late Yuan peasant wars, rising through the ranks to become a marshal due to his military achievements. In the 17th year of Zhi Zheng (1357), Chen Youliang assassinated Ni Wenjun. In the 19th year, he killed Zhao Pusheng, a distinguished general of the Heavenly Prosperity regime who had made great contributions in the anti-Yuan struggle. In the same year, he murdered Xu Shouhui’s close attendants, abducted Xu Shouhui, and declared himself the King of Han. The following year, in the intercalary fifth month, he killed Xu Shouhui and declared himself emperor, establishing the Great Han dynasty and adopting the reign title of Dayi.
