Shagang Red Army Street is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism destination.

Shagang Red Army Street is located on Red Army Street in Shagang Town, Jiangling County, Jingzhou City.

Shagang Town was an important birthplace of the Xiang-E'xi Revolutionary Base Area established by the Chinese Communist Party during the Agrarian Revolutionary War.

On January 23, 1928, Communist Party members such as Chen Xiangbo and Peng Zhiyu, under the leadership of the Hubei-West Special Committee and the Jiangling County Committee of the CCP, launched the Shagang New Year's Uprising. After the uprising succeeded, the remote Shagang lake area became a red zone. On March 6, 1929, the first expanded meeting of the Hubei-West Special Committee was held in Shagang Jiujia Bay, attended by over 100 delegates from Yichang, Jiangling, Gong'an, Jianli, Jingmen, Yuan'an, and Changyang. The meeting conveyed the spirit of the Sixth National Congress of the CCP and central directives, discussed and formulated six resolutions, and strengthened the leadership structure of the Special Committee. This meeting provided crucial political and organizational guarantees for the formation of the Honghu Revolutionary Base Area.

Between 1928 and 1932, leading organs such as the Hubei-West Special Committee, the Hubei-West Soviet Government, the Hubei-West Soviet United Government, the Hubei-West Jiangling County Soviet Government, and the Hubei-West Young Communist League Headquarters were headquartered here.

The early revolutionary site cluster of the Xiang-E'xi Revolutionary Base Area is located around Shagang Red Army Street in Shagang Town by Bailu Lake on the eastern edge of Jiangling, including 47 revolutionary sites covering a total area of 33,300 square meters, with a total building area of 9,227 square meters. It mainly includes sites from the Agrarian Revolutionary War period (1928–1932), such as the Hubei-West Special Committee, the Hubei-West Soviet Government, the Hubei-West Jiangling County Soviet Government, the Hubei-West Young Communist League Headquarters, and the former residence of He Long.

In March 2008, Shagang Red Army Street was designated as a Hubei Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the People's Government of Hubei Province.
