Mozigou Scenic Area
The Mozigou Scenic Area is named after a rock that resembles a millstone. Mozigou is not only home to a variety of uniquely shaped, lifelike rock formations, but also features an otherworldly stone forest maze formed by crisscrossing karst gullies. Legend has it that in ancient times, when a great flood covered the earth, only a brother and sister survived. To continue the human race, they sought divine proof and simultaneously rolled down two millstones from two mountaintops. If the stones joined together, they would marry. This story, marked by the imprint of group marriage and featuring elements of ancient sexual culture, is vividly reflected in the landscapes here. The place where the millstones met is called Mozigou, the spot where they rolled on the ground is known as Xiangshuidong (Echoing Water Cave), and the area where animals came to celebrate is called Xiongzhangdong (Bear Paw Cave).
