Everyone has seen and heard a lot about grand canyons, just like Hong Kong even has its own version – the Pineapple Hill Grand Canyon. But have you ever seen a sightseeing elevator in a grand canyon? What we’re introducing this time is the Enshi Grand Canyon, located at the junction of Hunan, Chongqing, and Hubei in China.
The Enshi Grand Canyon is hailed as the most beautiful canyon in the world, featuring sheer cliff galleries, hundreds of peaks, and cascading waterfalls — truly a spectacular attraction. But who would’ve thought that they went all out and built the world’s longest sightseeing elevator here!
This elevator is 688 meters long, built along the mountain in a “Σ” shape, exuding great presence, and allowing visitors to slowly admire the geological wonders of the Enshi Grand Canyon.
It’s said that this elevator can accommodate 600,000 people per year, with an average of 7,000 people using it every hour. But if it were me, I’d prefer fewer crowds and just enjoy the scenery of Enshi!
