Zhengzhou Erqi Memorial Hall is located at No. 82, middle section of Qiantang Road. It was the original site where the Beijing-Hankou Railway Workers' Federation was founded. On February 1, 1923, railway workers gathered here to hold the founding congress of the federation. Due to unreasonable obstruction by warlords, in the fight for — and freedom, the federation decided to stage a general — on February 4. At 9:00 a.m. that day, Zhengzhou railway workers sounded the first whistle of the great —, marking the beginning of the strike. Zhengzhou became the birthplace of this major —. On February 7, under instigation by imperialist forces, warlord Wu Peifu carried out a brutal crackdown on the striking workers, resulting in the shocking "February 7th Massacre" that reverberated both domestically and internationally.

This great —, a significant political struggle against imperialism and feudalism led by the Communist Party of China, demonstrated the fearless spirit of the Chinese working class. It marked one of the most heroic episodes in the history of the Chinese labor movement and has become a precious spiritual legacy inspiring future generations.

In September 1951, the Party and government constructed the Erqi Memorial Hall on the original site of the federation's founding—the “Puleyuan.” The memorial hall was officially opened on February 7, 1953. The building faces east and covers an area of 6,440 square meters, with a construction area of 3,917 square meters. It consists of a main building and two side wings, all two stories high, built with blue bricks, featuring pointed roofs and red-tiled roofing. It is a commemorative structure of brick-and-wood construction. This is one of the earliest commemorative buildings in New China.

In November 1986, the People’s Government of Henan Province designated it as a Henan Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit; in June 2006, the State Council listed it as part of the sixth batch of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level.

Protected Area: 50 meters north, 30 meters south, 45 meters east, and to the edge of Dunmu Road to the west from the north wall of the main building.

Building Control Zone: 50 meters outward from the protected area of the memorial hall.
