Shuangxiu Park is located in Beitaipingzhuang, Xicheng District, Beijing, on the south side of the North Third Ring Road, covering an area of 6.4 hectares. It was one of the ten key park projects built to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and opened to the public in 1984. The park consists of a traditional Chinese garden and a Japanese-style garden, making it the only park in Beijing featuring Japanese-style garden architecture. Known for its clear waters and serene hills, it includes the Japanese "Cui Shi Garden" and the Chinese "Hui Fang Garden," hence the name "Shuangxiu Garden" (Double Beauty Garden). The stones and other building materials were gifted by Japanese friends. The park features quaint structures, uniquely charming pavilions, bridges, and halls nestled among hills and waters, with turtle and crane islands in the pond symbolizing good fortune.

The Cui Shi Garden covers an area of 1.26 hectares and is located in the northeast corner. The stones and building materials in the garden were all gifted by Japanese friends. Massive rocks lie horizontally, and mountain springs flow freely. There are Japanese-style square lantern pillars lining the paths, a small wooden arched bridge over the pond, and two standalone stone islands. At the top of the hill stands a simple yet classic Japanese-style wooden pavilion with a thatched palm-leaf roof, while at the foot of the hill sits a low, wide, and rustic wooden open hall by the green pool. These elements showcase the distinctive architectural style of Japan.

The Hui Fang Garden features exquisitely arranged rocks and ingeniously designed layouts, interspersed with cascading waterfalls and winding paths, embodying the charm of a classical Chinese garden. Major attractions include Emerald Screen Reflection, Fragrant Mirror Garden, and Bamboo Stream Leading to Scenic Spots. The Emerald Screen Reflection serves as a rockery screen at the park’s entrance, presenting a majestic presence; the Fragrant Mirror Garden is adorned with perennial and biennial flowers scattered across the lawn; the Bamboo Stream Leading to Scenic Spots offers a delightful scene with small bridges, flowing water, and fountains.
